EMPOWERING HOMEMAKERs. STRENGTHENING SOCIETY.

The role of the Muslim woman – based on the Islamic paradigm – has faced sustained erosion by mainstream Western gender narratives and attitudinal changes related to career.

This leads to a loss of confidence and fulfilment in Muslim women, thereby compromising the integrity of the Muslim home and negatively impacting

Islam21c can remedy this situation by realising a solution, building a brand and generating a messaging campaign that reasserts the power of the Muslim woman and reassures her in her role.

Islam21c will champion the role of the Muslim woman based on the Islamic paradigm.

Narrative

There is decreasing value and honour given to motherhood or a woman staying at home to look after her family in society.

This in turn affects the Muslim women in these roles leading to burnout, depression and looking for fulfilment elsewhere as they do not feel their role is valuable or stimulating.

All women have been created with innate qualities that can be considered strengths of women and allow women to feel connected their Fitrah.

On the other hand, mainstream Western societies are degrading women to the point of being unable to define a woman, let alone acknowledging these traits in women.

These traits are a part of women that feminists deny, thus looking down on these qualities. They are neither valued nor linked to positive terms such as strength or power but are instead linked with weakness. By doing the opposite it made women feel proud of these qualities and proud to be women.  All these powers can be used for good or bad.

There are 8 key narrative points in this campaign; the ‘Mindset of a Believer’ is summarised into four headings and ‘Powers of the Woman’ are summarised under four headings.

This is part of Islam21c, a non-profit media platform producing insightful content and impactful campaigns that empower the Ummah.

Mindset of a Believer

  1. Having complete & perfect love of Allah
  1. Having a unity mindset
  1. Having a long-term vision
  1. Having good Akhlaq

Powers of the Woman

Women have the innate power:

  1. To create love
  1. To nurture
  1. To counsel
  2. To beautify

Note: Not all homemakers will necessarily be mothers or wives. The term ‘homemaker’ has been used to be inclusive of both women without children and single mothers.

Goal

Creation of a website and social media entity that can provide a voice for sisters online in a safe and Islamic manner – following previously discussed principles of anonymity and Akhlaq – to enable girls and women to hear Islamic guidance for them from other practicing sisters in an online environment.  This provides “relatable Islamic role models” that the community can see and hear in the online world and fill a void where competitors voices are being heard instead.

This entity will initially be active during fixed length campaigns and start off as a one-way method of sharing information out but not interacting with people online.

A coordinated mixed media campaign to highlight the value of homemakers. This applies not only to mothers but to women in all roles.
